Last Saturday (12th June) was a “West End at War” weekend in Leicester Square, with all kinds of goings on to celebrate and remember D-Day. The Guards Association Band played wonderful 40s swing and dance numbers, and some people – including these two ladies pictured left – couldn’t keep still when they heard the music.
The reason for going was to see my niece, who’s as a member of the FANY, was there to recruit new members, and be part of the fun (in 1940s FANY uniform). After 18 months of wondering whether I’d be able to make it work or not, I’ve finally installed a photo gallery on my site (courtesy of Menalto Gallery). Work? It’s a dream. And having suffered a computer crash and a camera theft in the recent past, on the web is probably the safest place for the pics.
