Thought-provoking review article on Music and Art in Conflict Transformation by Ariid Bergh and John Sloboda, the editorial for a recent issue of the online journal Music & Arts in Action. In the concluding paragraph, they refer to research which appears to confirm what seems instinctive – listening to music on an iPod  doesn’t have the same potential for contributing to long-lasting change in a community as active engagement with music.
